Photography has been a part of my life for about as long as I can remember. I likely received the photo gene from my parents, who were both amateur photographers prior to my birth. My mom worked a mall kiosk for a Ritz Camera & Image, while my dad had taken a couple of courses at a local community college.

Despite there being a camera at nearly every family function during my childhood, I can barely remember the first time I picked up a SLR. The earliest I recall holding a camera and actually shooting with purpose was when my family took a summer vacation to Hawaii in 2007. But by that time, we were long hooked on our Nikon D80—our DSLR of choice until just a couple years ago, when I was gifted my very own camera. 

Although my mom wasn't happy with my decision to betray our family alliance with Nikon, my Canon EOS 70D allowed me an opportunity to craft a professional portfolio.

My journey with film didn't really begin until the following months, when I returned to campus at the University of Maryland. during the winter break of my senior year of college.
